Wellness Policy:
The District is committed to providing school environments that promote and protect children’s health, well-being, and ability to learn by supporting healthy eating and physical activity. Improving student health and safety increases students’ capacity to learn, reduces absenteeism, and improves physical fitness and mental alertness. Schools play a critical role in promoting healthy and safe behaviors for our students.
The District's Wellness Committee would like to share the 2019-2020 Wellness Policy along with the Wellness Policy Resource Guide to help encourage environments that are safe, drug-free and conducive to learning. The overarching goal of the Wellness Policy is to promote health and wellness and to convey positive, consistent messages to all students in accordance with current law.
The Policy covers topics on school health/safety and environment, nutrition, physical activity, and physical education, and family and staff community Involvement. The Resource Guide was created to assist with any questions regarding the Wellness Policy and to provide useful ideas and materials that will make implementing the Wellness Policy seamless. The Resource Guide provides fundraiser ideas, food safety tips, healthy classroom celebrations, and much more!
